“What’s Happening at Law Schools?” - Presentation to the Inner Circle of Advocates / Aug. 4, 2026

This past week, NPLA advisory board member Shanin Specter delivered a talk entitled, “What’s Happening at Law Schools?” Co-authored with former NPLA board member Lisa Qian, the talk was meant to educate leading trial lawyers about the significant shifts happening at law schools across the country: now, more than ever, law students are choosing to say no to BigLaw and instead are opting into careers as plaintiffs’ attorneys. The talk highlighted the work of NPLA, advocated for better pay on the plaintiffs’ side, and encouraged attorneys to get more involved with their alma maters and local law schools to educate the next generation of the plaintiffs’ bar.
